Bere Alston is located on the picturesque Bere Peninsular nestling between the Tamar and Tavy rivers. Co Create have been appointed to work alongside the client to obtain planning permission for the conversion of the above ground reservoir into a four bedroom luxury dwelling. Once complete, the dwelling will boast a large open plan living space, a private internal courtyard as well as double garage, gym and swimming pool.
The project is now well and truly on site. The majority of the structural work has now been undertaken and we are hoping to see the building watertight over the coming months. Co Create have been careful to ensure the existing fabric and history of the property is retained. Re-purposed brickwork and exposed concrete have been part of the considerate approach taken to protect the historic value of the building.
The scheme was originally drawn up by an architect in Plymouth. A very unusual design concept, not taking into consideration the rigid structural pattern. Co Create redesigned the scheme to be far more efficient, with much better use of space. The restricted site meant drainage became a huge concern, which was overcome by using an onsite ClearFox system. We worked closely with the contractor in Bere Alston to reduce the quantity of waste required to be removed, the concrete removed to form the the courtyard was crushed and re purposed to lay the new ground bearing floor.
Co Create have worked hard to ensure the building sat beautifully within the landscape, have a look here to see the designs and proposed floor plans.
